The inaugural year of New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s “Speeding to Read” program is officially underway! Schools on board for the 2017-18 year include: Allenstown Elementary School, Loudon Elementary School, Pelham Elementary School and Woodland Heights Elementary (Laconia).
The Speeding to Read program held a soft launch in the spring of 2017 with four schools participating. Students read nearly 6,000 books from the four schools, with the winning classrooms both coming from Woodland Heights. As a reward, NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Brennan Poole visited the school for a pizza party and autograph session.
Will Woodland Heights hold on to its crown or will a new school emerge as this year’s top reader? Stay tuned for updates on which schools are in the lead after Turn 1 – the point in which numbers are tabulated.
It is too late to get your school involved for this year, but if you would like more information on how you can get your students involved for 2018-19, call 603-513-5707 or email [email protected]
